Proudly, I review this book which was published in 2017 because it includes 6 of the artists I included in my book, The Fine Art of Crochet, published in 2013. Featuring her work on the back cover honors Bonnie Meltzer; and her work featured in the Introduction honors Donna Rosenthal. I also wrote about Jerry Bleem, Norma Minowitz, Karen Searle and Yvette Kaiser Smith.

Each of these artists have included new, innovative works of art in this publication, as well as classics you may have seen in my book. Artists are constantly evolving in both their inspiration as well as the materials they use. I never tire of seeing new works of crochet art, but it is also gratifying to see that works I chose for my book are standing the test of time.
No less thrilling is to come upon artists whose medium is crochet and whom I have not known before. Since the publication of my book, I have continued to search out crochet as art and regularly feature my finds. Barbara De Pirro, in Lee & Rooney's book, crochets with plastic and gives voice to her ecological concerns. New to me are Kaitlin McCormack and Renate Kirkpatrick. Stay tuned as I will enjoy featuring them in a future blog post here.
Adrienne Sloane, a well respected fiber artist in her own right, says in the Introduction: "Exhibited in major museums both her and abroad fiber art joins a contemporary movement that increasingly recognizes its contributions and legitimacy as a fine art form. Artistry in Fiber Vol. 2: Sculpture, a window on this rapidly growing field, showcases known and emerging contemporary artists who bring a wealth of history and experience to reimagining this medium in innovative ways.
In my opinion, it is getting time to enjoy a Volume 2 of Crochet-As-Art! Who would like to pursue that objective for this aging Queen?
Artistry in Fiber Vol. 2: Sculpture is available from Schiffer Publishing Ltd.
