My Vacation Part III

Yesterday afternoon I was treated to a wonderful concert by my long-time friend, Sheila. We met at the CGOA crochet conference in Cleveland in 2000. She's the one who encouraged us to visit Ajijic for the first time. She has lived here fifteen years. The Northern Lights Festival, in its  in Ajijic attracts world-class musicians from around the world. Started by Chris Wilshire, an Aijic resident, the two week festival has grown in reputation and prestige. However, its commitment is the same, "to create a musical retreat for international artists each year to present concerts that are affordable for the general public." Since Bethany left on the 11th after a wonderful visit with me, I haven't been overly busy; but things move slowly here! In pictures, I'll take you back through the last 5 days... I started my morning off right with yogurt topped with granola and fresh raspberries. I remembered the granola from years ago at the grocery, El Torito , and was so g...

My 2020 Mexican Vacation

Thank you to Bethany Leigh or this beautiful photo! Where to begin?...Well, how about at the beginning! So much has changed for me since I was last here with husband, Alan. It seems like not so much has changed here in Ajijic, Jalisco Mexico, northwest of Guadalajara on Lake Chapala. We moved from a Chicago suburb to Indianapolis in late 2015. Alan died in July 2016 after a long illness and I have blogged {LINK} about it. I am so grateful to have my entire family near me. We have so much fun together and my grandchildren are just the best! Kiddie Kwotes: Chloe (9)-"Gigi, you are really old, but you have a young soul." After our trip to the Stutz Bearcat Museum, Jack: "That was the best museum I've ever been to!" Both Alan and I left a little part of our hearts in Ajijic When we left for the last time in March 2012! We owned a house here for five years and the plan was to live part time in both Aijic and Chicago taking advantage of the best climates of e...

Back in the Blogosphere

Friday February 8, 2013 I've just been so incredibly busy writing about crochet since the new year started that I didn't have any extra time or cro-thoughts to put here for fear of duplication! I've been doing double duty over at Talking Crochet eNewsletter since back in November. We now have chosen an associate editor who will be sharing the job with me. I'm excited to be introducing her in the issue that goes live on February 26. So, you'll have to wait until then to find out who she is. Never fear...I've been totally immersed in crochet as usual. I've been concentrating on working on some art pieces and also covering rocks like crazy. I've just not taken the time to write about it. I also plan to celebrate National Crochet Month (March) by announcing a very special project I have been working on for quite some time. I love surprises! "Take-Out:" Crochet-covered river rocks. Why do I call this "take-out"? I spied these love...
